Cain got mad, but GOD has previously warned Cain, and however, Cain killed Abel, who happened to be his younger brother. A deeper look through previous chapters will reveal many facts that will enrich the plot.

The Setup

Genesis 1, GOD has created the earth and sky objects. Genesis 2, GOD has prepared the garden in the east of Eden and placed the very first Man and Woman, who GOD created. Genesis 3, Man and Woman have fallen into sin by directly disobeying GOD and choose to follow the snake (indicated as evil).

Genesis 3 : 17 GOD put the curse on the ground, and with sorrow (KJV, Young’s Literal Translation, LITV | Jay P Green Literal Translation), toil (Amplified, ASV, NASB, NIV), struggle to scratch a living (NLT), and painful (Message), the human will eat from anything produced by the ground

Genesis 3 : 18 introducing the presence of thorns and thistles, will be grown from the ground, and the food for human is the vegetation from the ground

Genesis 3 : 19  human will eat bread with sweat until die

Genesis 3 : 21 the first thing, GOD physically puts down HIS hand to kill animal and make clothes from animal skin to cover human.

Genesis 3 : 24 GOD drove the man and woman out of Eden. GOD placed Cherubim, with the flaming fiery sword, at the east of Eden (refer to Genesis 2 : 8, GOD planted the garden in the east of Eden and placed the man there). There was a place called Eden. At the eastern part, GOD planted a garden and placed the Man (Genesis 2 : 8). Then the man was cast out from Eden (Genesis 3 : 23). GOD put guardian at the eastern part of the Eden (Genesis 3 : 24). Hypothetically assumed, that the Man and Woman was use the eastern part of the Eden as the exit, and at the exit point, GOD put guardian. No text in the Bible indicating the northern, southern, and western part of the Eden.

Genesis 2 : 10 states that a river went out from Eden, become 4 heads, to water the garden:
- Pison goes to Havilah. The place of gold, bdelium, onyx
- Gihon goes to Ethiopia
- Hidekel (Tigris) goes to East Assyria
- Euphrates
Many works regarding exact place of Eden has been in controversies involving inter-disciplinary scholars. Does Eden refers to the inter-dimensional time space relative to human, also unknown. After big flood of Noah, the where about of Eden may be assumed buried in the ocean.

Cain

Genesis 4 : 1 states the birth of Cain, whose parents was Adam and Eve. Knowing the story from his parents, in Genesis 1 : 29, that fruit of tree will be human’s meat, Cain worked tilled the ground to produce fruit for eat.

Genesis 4 : 3 states that Cain brought the food as offering for GOD.

Genesis 4 : 5 states that Cain’s offering was refused by GOD and has made Cain angry.

Genesis 4 : 6 to 7 states that GOD communicate to Cain. GOD mentioned through question that if Cain was doing well, surely will be an acceptance. GOD also mentioned the warning regarding the craving of sin on Cain, and Cain must ruled over sin.

Genesis 4 : 8 states that Cain chose to kill his younger brother, Abel

Genesis 4 : 9 states the typical question asked by GOD, "where", which elusively does not relate with the spatial geographical location (latitude, longitude, altitude) of Earth in its space-time continuum. The "where" question asked by GOD to Cain was directed to Cain’s logical where about, which has made Cain realized that Cain (as the firstlings and oldest son in the family) should be the brother’s keeper, the one who cares to his own younger brother, as later replied to GOD.

Genesis 4 : 11 to 12 states the curse for Cain as lifetime punishment by GOD. Cain will not be able to bring forth fruits from tree on the land he will work, but Cain will be the wanderer from land to land.

Genesis 4 : 13 to 14 states the acceptance of punishment by Cain. Cain knew that Cain was cast out from the land, from the presence of GOD, and Cain realize that every person he will encounter will try to annihilate him. Therefore Cain made his own defend to GOD.

Genesis 4 : 15 states GOD agree to Cain’s defendant and put a mark on Cain as a warning that will be avenged sevenfold to those who kill Cain.

Genesis 4 : 16 states that Cain went away from GOD and dwell at Nod, the east of Eden. No text in the Bible describe anything regarding north, south, and west of Eden.

Abel

Genesis 4 : 2 states that after Cain, Adam and Eve bore again Abel. Cain job was farmer (tiller of the ground), and Abel was shepherd.

Genesis 4 : 4 states that Abel brought firstlings of the flock together with the fat. GOD respected Abel’s offering.

Genesis 4 : 8 Abel was killed by Cain

Genesis 4 : 10 Abel’s blood cried to GOD.

Mysteries

The true reason why GOD refused Cain offering has remained a mystery. The Bible only stated that Cain was not doing well enough (Genesis 4 : 7). Cain perceived the command of GOD to grow vegetation that will later produce fruits as the food that will become the meat for human.

After the fall of Man and Woman, GOD showed that the sacrifice is needed for covering sin, displayed by GOD sacrificing animal to take the skin for covering the naked Adam and Eve. GOD likes sacrifices, this was perceived by Abel, that do the work as shepherd.

Experience indicates that Sunkist Oranges, bought with the label "Last Lane" is the best of all, "Last Lane" is the latest lane where the Sunkist oranges were picked up from the tree. The Bible does not indicate in detail regarding Cain’s offering, what kind of fruits, taken from what kind of tree, the Bible only indicates that whatever Cain did, not well enough. Cain made offering to GOD from the work of his hand as farmer. The work that Cain did bear fruit from the cursed ground. What Cain probably thought was that the successful work that Cain did has bear fruit, and that was offered to GOD. Perhaps, hypothetically assumed, GOD did not want the Cain sacrifice because of it comes from the cursed ground, like offering the fruit of the cursed back to the creator. If so, Cain has no other choice to offer the works of his hand, because Cain was a farmer. In the end, the Bible only indicates that Cain was not do well enough. Comparing with the offering of Abel, Bible did not indicate that offering from Cain is the firstlings.

When the parents, Adam and Eve, told the story of creation (assumed that the story told as the one written in the Bible, additional information was regarded), to Cain and Abel. Abel perceived that GOD loves animal sacrifice, and the sacrifice is to covering the effect of sin. Therefore (assumed) Abel chose to become shepherd. The offering of Abel, according to the Bible, were the firstlings and fatty. GOD loves it, as the Bible indicates. Indication perceived from the Bible (although it was not clearly written) was that Abel firstlings were all born normal and all fatty. None even one of them was born defective.

Conclusion

Regardless the matter of what kind of fruit that Cain brought before GOD as offering, GOD said to Cain that what Cain did was not well enough. Bible only indicates that Abel brings the firstlings and fatty offering in comparison to Cain’s offering which is not written in detail. It can be assumed that perhaps the attitude of heart of Cain was not as good as Abel in facing GOD as King offering sacrifices. And perhaps Abel possess the knowledge of what are the things that delighted GOD, while Cain (perhaps) only focus to the "things must to accomplish" regardless the condition of heart in offering sacrifices before GOD the King and Creator of all things.

The Fall of Man is one of the classical largest discussion that attracts many opinions ranging from skeptics and optimists. Suppose, Genesis 3, is told simply, the fall of man is indicated at the moment Adam eat the forbidden fruit. However, a lot of things happened to cause Adam eats the forbidden fruit. Genesis 3 is not stand alone, therefore, it is necessary to look backward to the verses precede Genesis 3, to draw the technical aspects.

Genesis 2 : 5 states that the vegetation has not yet grow, because GOD has not yet cause the rain and there was no man to work on the ground. Genesis 2 : 6 states that GOD caused the mist to go up from the stream on the ground to cause rain to water the vegetation. It gives clear pictures that all the nature is belong to GOD while man do the physical works as the partner of GOD. Genesis 2 : 7 GOD creates man with the characteristic of physical properties building block is from the dust of the ground with the "breath" of GOD. "Breath" in the verse indicates the very being of GOD is given to man, adding more dimensions to the man. Genesis 1 : 26 to 27 tells the creation of man in HIS own image. By connecting Genesis 1 and 2, the "breath" in Genesis 2 indicates the inheritance given to the man to have the Godly characteristic in doing physical work as the partner of GOD, and enables man in the limited dimension to communicate to GOD the Creator in other dimension. Also it may draw assumption that the "breath" given to the man, adds the capability to reach other metaphysical dimensions (related to GOD the creator) beyond physical spatial and temporal dimension. Genesis 2 : 8 states that only at the east side of the garden is called Eden and man was placed there. Northern, Southern, and Western part of the garden along with the dwellers were not well documented.

Genesis 2 : 9 states that GOD make the vegetation pleasant to eyes, good for food, and an announcement that there is a tree of knowledge to know good and evil in the middle of the Eden. The function of the tree of knowledge, its forbidden reason (beyond the reason to know good and evil), relation to the sin committed to GOD (beyond disobey), and the realization perceived by GOD regarding HIS creation that will committed sin in relation with placing the tree of knowledge that will be consequenced by the separation of the Creator with the created man, did not well documented and require extensive studies to know the heart of GOD.

Genesis 2 : 15 to 17 states the command from GOD to man regarding the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil, that the man may eat from any tree except the tree of knowledge in the center of the Eden. Then GOD creates woman out of man. Notice the timing, sequentially, that GOD creates the man, GOD gave the man warning, GOD creates the woman, GOD brings the woman to the man. The omnipresent of GOD extend beyond human spatial dimension, it extend to the temporal beyond human dimension. By this, GOD has known that human will choose to disobey GOD by eating from the forbidden tree. The reason of all complicated creation by creating human, all the vegetation that pleasing eyes including the forbidden tree, and the rule not to eat the forbidden tree, did not plainly stated in the Bible. Even the reason that the forbidden tree exists did not plainly stated as well. Regardless extensive discussion, the main rule stated that the moment the man eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge, the man will know good and evil, and die. How the death relates to the skill attained of knowing good and evil? Logically, physical death may be irrelevant to the context when relating to the knowledge attained. Then the only logical assumption is that the spiritual death. Notice in Genesis 2 : 22 when GOD creating woman out of man. GOD brought the woman to man, and man called woman, because it is built from man. The verse gives clear picture that GOD and man seeing and communicating each other in the Eden. This may be assumed that language has been developed, although "writings" had not yet been stated in the Genesis 3 together with "record keeping". When GOD created man and blew the breath of GOD in man, the very being of GOD was infused in the man, and the verses written that GOD and man talk to each other face to face. This indicates that man was inherited something beyond both spatial and temporal physical properties, an inter-dimensional experience piercing through metaphysical domains of GOD. All the very being of man was to know GOD, to know all about good, none of what-so-ever regarding bad. It can be assume that the nullification of knowledge of bad made the initial human only do good. The biologists quarantine the outbreak in the biohazard containment chamber which is perfectly sealed, in order to limit the defected area not to be exposed to the clean area. The area in which categorized as clean is where the normal population dwells, which generally not knowing the outbreak. The area in which categorized as biohazard, is distant from population and full of barricade and informational boards stated that the area is off limits. In Genesis 3, when human is exposed to the knowledge of good and bad, it is actually focused on the exposure to the knowledge of bad, similar case when a person is exposed to the biohazard. The action taken is to remove the exposed subject from the clean area, which the main reason is to stop the further exposure by the exposed subject to other subjects. The physical properties remain, while the extensive care to cure the contaminated subject is focus on the biological properties. Therefore, the expel, which causing the spiritual death and dis-relationship between GOD and man, due to the contamination of knowledge of bad, was deemed necessary, perhaps, to stop the further contamination caused by contaminated human.

When GOD created man, GOD gave order to man regarding the forbidden tree with the consequences. Then GOD created woman, and brought the woman to man. GOD did not tells anything to the woman, instead GOD brought the woman to man. It is the duty of the man to tell the woman all the rules which the man perceived from GOD. The governmental structure introduced is Monarch with GOD as the King and man as the GOD subordinate and woman as the man subordinate. The authority type exercised was Military, in which GOD expect the man to do all HIS commands, and not to discuss it. Later on the Bible, the human may suggest many things, but the final word is from GOD and man have to comply, and upon failing to comply will be punishable by death, because it is taken as challenging the authority of GOD the King. Never in the Bible indicates the governmental type of Democracy, where everything to be discussed and serve the favor of people.

The serpent told the woman, not the man, that all the fruits from all tree GOD has forbade to eat. The serpent brought the name of GOD on top on false command.

Genesis 3 : 2 to 3 stated that the woman said that GOD permitted to eat all food except the one from the forbidden tree. Surely the woman perceived the command from the man, because previously GOD did not tell anything to the woman, GOD commanded the man, and logically, the man passed the command to the woman, so that the woman knew. Notice that the woman mentioned GOD as the source who gave the command, which indicates the proper referencing made by man.

Genesis 3 : 4 to 5 pictures the effort of the serpent regarding its characteristics to manipulate the command from GOD to be discussed. Then the verse 5 the serpent is presented the charming outcome upon eating the fruit from the forbidden tree. When GOD commands the man, GOD presented Himself with the capacity of a King. Then the man pass the command to the woman, as the messenger, the man present himself with the capacity of an Ambassador, as the proxy reflecting the GOD as King. The governmental system was Monarchy and the command structure exercised was Military as previously presented. The serpent had tried to infuse the other system of governmental by challenging the command to discussion for the benefit of the man and woman. By this, the King authority has been challenged, and it is wrong. It is interesting to know that there was a talking serpent, the serpent who possess the human language and communication skill in highest level and very skillfully, enough to transform GOD command into arguable discussion topic.

Genesis 3 : 6 relates to the Genesis 2 : 9 that all vegetation created by GOD is pleasant to eyes. In addition to that, the woman follow the serpent idea, and without knowingly, challenge the GOD authority as King. To make the thing worse, the woman gave to man. The man who knew command first handed through the continuous relationship with GOD had failed to function as the Ambassador of GOD for the woman, and choose to take woman advice to eat. The chain of command has been altered, both man and woman had put the authoritative command from GOD into arguable discussion topic introduced by the serpent.

Genesis 3 : 9 interestingly GOD questioned the man with the word "where". GOD who knows all things, surely did not ask the geographic question regarding whereabout the man and the woman. The question "where" logically assumed to question the logical status of man and woman, which authority you have followed? GOD or the serpent?

Genesis 3 : 12 to 14 may indicates the first political arguments. Verse 12 the man replied to GOD by blaming the woman. Interesting enough that in verse 11 GOD only ask and did not point who should answer. Logically assumed, that the man still knew his purpose as the Ambassador of GOD to the woman. Seeing the man had blamed the woman, the woman then follow the man footstep to blame the serpent. Blame has to be aside somewhere, a very familiar hidden political agenda.

In conclusion, the Bible often pictures GOD as the King, gives commands, indicating the Monarchy – Military governmental bodies. No indication of the Democracy, in the relation that the command is open for arguable discussion topic to favor the subject. And the man as the head of the family is the Ambassador of GOD as the King to the family, the woman and the children. Failure to comply the commands of GOD as the King will be taken as challenging the authority of GOD as the King and punishable by spiritual death, disavowed by GOD, HIS covering over the subject will be removed, then the subject will be subjected to the law of the cursed land.
